He’s going to be a great driver although I don’t know how older Fernando is now. If he will find a good seat, he’s always welcome here to fight us. It doesn’t make a difference, really, always. I’m here to fight with whoever’s here.

Verstappen staying Red Bull for F1 2020
Toto Wolff has frequently spoken glowingly about Max Verstappen and now there have been rumours all season about Mercedes’ fascination from the Dutchman to form a blockbuster venture with Hamilton. But that swoop is not going to take place.
Sky Sports understands Verstappen, that has an Red Bull contract for 2020, had performance clauses that might have seen him become available – but they expired after the GP.
Verstappen would have been able to proceed out of Red Bull had he not been in the top three at the championship from the summer months – however his second-placed finish implies that he is third behind Hamilton and Bottas.
“He is at Red Bull, he has a contract and he’s committed to Red Bull,” said Mercedes manager Wolff. “I like to find that he states that, because I wouldn’t wish to have any motorist in my team looking on the fence of what opportunities are on the market.
“He is committed to Red Bullthis is where he is racing this year and that is really where he’s going to race the year afterwards. And everything is quite much out in the open.”

Haas boss Steiner told Sky F1:”I sat with them originally and we agreed it wasn’t a difficult arrangement, they were on board – which if we tell them if they’re near together, and maybe now it’s finished because we’ve got an agreement, they take instruction from the group, who’s going who’s staying [in place ].
“We’ve got clear understanding, they were satisfied with the decision and sat down between them to sort themselves out. They know they can’t do like this and I hope it works this time. I’m mentioning it for the third time so maybe three times lucky and we’re over it”
About the 2020 line-up, Steiner continued:”Gene [Haas, team owner] and myself may decide on the summer break, hopefully, and we all could return and know how we come back forward with the drivers for following year.
“There’s need of motorists, but there isn’t a lot of movement yet. Everybody is asking, we are all placing our feelers out viewing what’s happening, but nothing has transferred. When the first domino falls the marketplace will begin to move.”

Bottas added:”I do not think one mistake or a single race will modify anything. That is my mindset. I should not thinking about it, I need to perform in my best and concentrate on this.
