The Denver Broncos will commemorate owner Pat Bowlen’s life . Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis declared Monday the players will wear a”Mr. B” decal to honor Bowlen this season.
Among the most prosperous owners in NFL history, both on and off the field, Bowlen died Thursday after a long struggle.
Bowlen will be enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August.
“it is a sad time. There is no question about it. It has been a difficult couple of days,” Ellis said Monday. “But we are excited to continue for Pat and we are excited to celebrate his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August at Canton and then we will do a few things during the regular season, of course, to honor himas well.”
In addition to the decal, the Broncos will hold a brief tribute ahead of the team’s first home game on Sept. 15, and at a pre-planned moment before a mid-October match versus the Tennessee Titans for the two Bowlen and fellow Hall of Famer Champ Bailey.
