Coventry City have agreed a contract with manager Mark Robins after Sunderlands strategy to him regarding their directors function to speak.
After gaining advertising through the play-offs at 2017/18 robins has guided Coventry to position in Sky Bet League One 11 matches this season.
The 49-year-old is at his second spell in charge of the Sky Blues and told Sky Sports News he iscompletely committed to the club despite Sunderlands interest.
Robins said:It has been really fast. I was advised on Wednesday afternoon.
[On Thursday] the club had started discussions on a contract and straightaway I stated I did not want to leave.
Im totally committed here. The work we have done over the last two-and-a-half or three years was really good and I have a real affinity and a true relationship with this area, so it might take something special for me to move anywhere else.
Sunderland have been linked including Wigans Paul Cook and Wycombes Gareth Ainsworth, because they chased Jack Ross on Tuesday after less than 18 months.
Despite being flattered by Sunderlands curiosity, Robins insists his goal is to attempt to direct Coventry back to the Championship.
He added:Sunderland is a unique club. Its a big team, but so is that and it is really close to my heart and also the job that we allre doing, the challenges weve encounter together.
Theres still a lot of challenges to get through, however I am in the center of a job that Im really enjoying and Id like to do this to its conclusion, as far as we possibly can do.
The immediate intent is to attempt to get into the Championship as quickly as possible. I am glad its all sorted and put to bed because theres huge games coming up along with the game on Sunday is just that.
The chief executive David Boddy of coventry is delighted to have retained Robins in the club, yet praised Sunderland because of their manner during event.
Boddy stated:Were delighted that Mark has agreed a new contract with Coventry City Football Club, and will supporters be too.
Interest from elsewhere is really a compliment to the outstanding project that Mark has performed at this bar, regardless of trying circumstances occasionally.
That Mark has dedicated to this new contract shows his affection for the team and its supporters, along with the dedication he needs to continuing the great job hes started here.
