Not every instructor that is driving may claim to have become part of the biggest upsets in international football’s history.
However, that is part of the work of a week.
Well, not very.
Thursday was no ordinary night for the Somalia group, as a remarkable triumph was recorded by the side in World Cup qualifying.
Parties were triggered by A stunning 86th-minute winner as the Ocean Stars – that the lowest-ranked team in soccer that was African – stunned 90 places were rated by a Zimbabwe team from the first leg of the preliminary round match in Djibouti.

The initial leg, a’house’ tie to its Ocean Stars, was played neighbouring Djibouti because of the unstable security situation in Somalia – but that the outcome moved from unnoticed as Fifa streamed the match on its website and the lowly team trended internationally on social networking.
And, with the second leg on Tuesday and the possibility of an almost unthinkable first appearance from the group stages of World Cup qualification 90 minutes away, Somalia’s president has already invited the team.
“Apparently the scenes back are all amazing, so if we do go back after the next leg the reception will be incredible,” said Mohamud.
“Now Zimbabwe understand what we’re about they’ll need to prepare differently for this game but we’re in a strong position.
“We’ve made history but we are not done here. We all understand there is a lot more to come from us. So we will go there and fancy ourselves.”
