Harry Winks insists Tottenhams gamers are entirely behind under-pressure boss Mauricio Pochettino and are determined to make it through the currentdark days, says midfielder Harry Winks.
Spurs were plunged into crisis this season and a terror week saw them follow a hammering by Bayern Munich in the Champions League with a 3-0 loss.
Pochettino – who guided the club to the Champions League final five months ago – has had to defend his position, insisting he doesnt fear the bag.
There are issues at the club, starting however Winks insists that the players are playing Pochettino.
Hes our manager. Hes been wonderful ever since hes been in the club and also taken the club to new heights, Winks stated.
In the moment we are going through a tiny rough patch. That occurs in soccer, every club travels through it.
It is important we stand up as guys and get through these dark times, and we could get back to playing well and winning just as far as we could.
In the last six years we have come a long way, weve become a title-challenging facet. But we have not shown it this year, we have just shown it.
In some games weve played really nicely but for the vast majority of this year we havent shown what we are about.
It is important we look back on it reflect so realise its not been good enough, no excuses. The only real means we could put it right is back in training and the next match.
Its never been bad under Pochettino as it was at Brighton, where Spurs – not assisted by a Hugo Lloris howler at the minute – placed within an display.
Winks arrived in half-time but couldnt affect the end result and apologised to the supporters of the club.
In the end of the match we went to our fans and apologised because we are Tottenham Hotspur and that performance wasnt good enough.
Brighton played extremely nicely but our standards are a lot higher than we showed and we need to do far better than this. So to all of the fans that witnessed this and all those who travelled we apologise.
