They are #4 in the country in total offense this season and it begins using Heisman hopeful quarterback Justin Fields. One interception and 31 touchdowns, that is insanity. Hes even better in protecting the football, as great as Fields is at hurling. Underneath Justin Fields, the Buckeyes will also be the #1 scoring offense in the country at 51.5 points per game. Another large portion of the Buckeyes offense has been the game and specifically the play J.K. Dobbins. He has really been a stud this year and 13 touchdowns supporting a monster of an online. As sick as the unit has been for Ohio State, they might not be the best unit on the field this year for Ryan Day. OSU is your #1 team among other classes that are defensive in the nation in total defense this season and they will be prepared to go at 12:00 pm eastern on Saturday.
Themselves this past year the team playing that weekend deserves some charge. James Franklin has assembled a Penn State squad this season. It has been one of the greatest programs nationwide in the previous ten years. If Penn State wins out they could knock at Ohio State from this BIG 10 championship match and the College Football Playoff. This year the Nittany Lions offense is ranked 15th in the country in scoring offense at 37 points per match. Theyre also a 50 passing offense because of this drama of Sean Clifford this year.
While he has not been as awe-inspiring as Justin Fields, he has still thrown for just under 2,500 yards with 22 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. These are numbers considering he plays games from BIG 10 defenses. Penn State continues to be overlooked all year because of how dominant that Ohio State has been but the Nittany Lions have a whole team. They have a 15 defense. We know that Franklin will have his team prepared to play with the greatest game of their season, but can it translate to success on the field? That is the question.
