The suggested rematch using Deontay Wilder of tyson Fury may be postponed as a result of the cuts he endured in defeating on Otto Wallin on points in Las Vegas, states promoter Frank Warren.
Fury, 31and cuts around his right eye, boxed and was later taken to hospital for surgery.
Warren stated the Wilder departure, that includes a period of 22 February could be impacted by Fury’s recovery timescale.
“If it does not heal well the battle may need to be pushed right back,” Warren explained.
“Hopefully that won’t be the case. It depends how it heals, if it is OK it will not be an issue.”
He included BBC Radio 5 Live:”It’s not simply the fight, it is the coaching and sparring. He has to be 100% right.”
The February rematch – after last December’s exhilarating draw in Los Angeles – appeared ambitious anyway given WBC world heavyweight champion Wilder is due to battle Luis Ortiz in late November.
However, the harms Wallin inflicted by virtue of a hit in the T-Mobile Arena nearly led.
The physician twice called up to the corner of Fury and, as the blood had been drawn by a punch, Wallin would have landed a huge angry.
BBC Radio 5 Live boxing analyst Steve Bunce said the cuts imposed”were some of the worst I’ve observed in boxing”.
Former world middleweight champion Andy Lee believes a delay to a Wilder bout is inevitable and advised Live:”We’ll see how the cut warms up, but it’s hard to see him battling in February. That’s one that will take six to eight weeks to heal.”
Speaking from hospital in vegas, Warren added:”We are waiting for a plastic surgeon to come along and stitch his attention.
“The cut hampered his performance but in the close of the day he prevailed. He’ll have micro-surgery on the cuts one above the eye and you on the eye-lid. It gave Wallin a lot of heart.”
Fury did no post-fight press leaving coach Ben Davison to field questions that are tough as a result of comments made by his own father.
Fury’s dad John, who has not been in a position to travel to the US for battles due to past convictions, said his son looked”feeble as a kitten”, adding the display was”the worst I have seen from Tyson”.
“It seemed like he’d nothing after round two,” he advised BT Sport.
“In 18 stone 1, I’ve warned him warned him. He is a fighter.
“When I had my way, the whole lot [Tyson's group ] will be gone. Should they keep that group that’ll be his livelihood [gone].”

Criticism of Fury looks harsh given that the character of cuts which clearly forced him to change his style and seek a knockout given he had been aware of the concern physicians were revealing.
His coach Davison, who’s worked with him 2017, told BBC Sport:”If he was as weak as a kitten he would not have been able to do 12 rounds like this.
“It had been his motor, expertise, strength and size which was the distinction. I am happy.
“John is Tyson’s daddy so that you must respect him. Tyson was feeling prepared. You can not do anything regarding a bad cut”
