Monaghan GAA have announced Seamus McEnaney’s appointment as director of their footballers.
‘Banty’ takes control of his native county having been at the helm between 2010 and 2004.
In the meantime, he has handled both Meath and Wexford, prior to returning to take charge of their underage sides.
The death of Malachy O’Rourke in the aftermath of the county’s jolt qualifier loss to Armagh paved the way for McEnaney’s yield, and on Monday night his second coming was ratified along with the backroom group of Peter Donnelly, Conor Laverty, David McCague and Ray Boyne.
“It is an honor and a chance to have the chance to manage this set of Monaghan players,” clarified McEnaney in a declaration.
“The management staff and I’m relishing the challenge of building on the last great work of Malachy O’Rourke and make sure that Monaghan continues to compete at the highest level.”
