Southend United have accepted the resignation of Kevin Bond after a dreadful start to this 2019-20 season.
The Shrimpers sit in place and have dropped their opening League One games, using Bolton under them due to their deduction for going into administration.
Chairman Ron Martin met with Bond on Friday and meeting concluded with all the 62-year-old tendering his resignation.
Bond helped direct Southend to security and had taken control.
“Kevin is a sincere expert coach with enormous experience in the industry. His accomplishments in maintaining the club League One last season needs to be acknowledged and will long be remembered by the club’s fans,” Martin said.
“Regrettably the euphoria experienced in the end of last season has not translated into the pitch up to now this season.
“However, I remain convinced that the players we’ve got at Southend United, for instance, strong signings made by Kevin Bond, will allow a successful year under the guidance of a brand new supervisor.
“The search for this individual commences today.”
