The Red Sox will make the playoffs
Boston is far too gifted and the American League has many guess squads for me against the Sox hitting the postseason in any way to pick. But it’ll be through the AL Wild Card spot that is second, and the defending champs won’t contact the World Series.
Why, you ask? Due to the left shoulder of Chris Sale? The October workload of nathan Eovaldi? Some sort of statistical setback for Mookie Betts or J.D. Martinez?
Nah. I just don’t believe your fans could break the World Series trophy with an beer can in the baseball gods without some type of penalty.
Bryce Harper will sign with the Cardinals
At this point, my mind still states that Harper will end up with the White Sox or the Phillies. However, this is the prediction I made at the start of the Hot Stove season, and, darn it, I’m heading down with the boat, together with me sinking quickly.
I need to veer from an established path of half-measures and short-term options and do maintain that the Cardinals have the tools to pull it off. Paul Goldschmidt has been a great get, but only for one year (and he is 31). This club would be taken by harper to World Series-caliber squad that is clean from National League Central contender that is borderline.
