Max Scherzer is still a darned good pitcher. Hes a three-time Cy Young winner, while submitting a set of no-hitters and a 20-strikeout match, making each of the last seven All-Star teams. Very nice. 1 problem, though: Scherzer plays with the Washington Nationals, along with his talents are wasted on them. The Nats are just 9-11 supporting their genius this season for a deficit of 10.89 betting units — just Jacob deGrom (minus-14.43 units) along with Chris Sale (minus-19.31 units) have lost more.
Scherzers in good company. And he is reportedly in good health; Scherzer is expected to make his return from the injured list this Thursday (7:05 PM ET, MLBN) when the Nationals visit Steven Brault along with the Pittsburgh Pirates. This can be a good spot to fade the Nats and Scherzer for our MLB picks after he missed the last month of activity. Let us see whether the amounts agree.
