Michael van Gerwen is your favorite but in a tournament that has seen seeds sprinkled, Wayne Mardle and Rod Studd contemplate the semi-finals.
The four guys left standing have perhaps been in charge of the darts in the tournament, although friday isnt one which was predicted.
The name has never been defended by him although van Gerwen is the winner, hes also the sole real seed remaining after the rest of the worlds best eight were sprinkled by the end of the quarter-finals.
The Dutchman takes on surprise semi-finalist Chris Dobey, whos enjoying the best week of his career, while in another semi-final Glen Durrants fairy-tale introduction year on the PDC continues from a resurgent Dave Chisnall, that was defeated in the final by Phil Taylor six decades ago.

Will not have everything his own way from Hollywood, whose spectacular finishing was a key portion of the tournament and he will need the exact same.
Dobey was brilliant in beating Gary Anderson, written in beating Ricky Evans, and battled his way. Hes shown he can win in several ways and his double-to-start has been one of the best, but the monster has stirred in Van Gerwen.
Regardless of winning the Premier League, the Masters and the World Championship there are several questions of MvG after a inconsistent year.
But this week he has looked in the disposition in living a scare against Jamie Hughes and needing to find his best from Mervyn King, this will be the time of season he comes alive and hes got a 100 percent record against Dobey within their livelihood head-to-head.
Professionals verdict – Van Gerwen is the preferred and I expect Van Gerwen to win, as everyone besides Chris Dobey will. Whatever occurs, if Chris play well it has been a week for him and could go up.
Gary Anderson, the greatest win of his career has been beaten by him, and hes got further than he has ever obtained in reaching a major TV semi-finalhe has had and I expect he pushes . Rod Studd

In their own words…
Michael van Gerwen – I had to produce something and I had to work really hard as Mervyn played a game.
The arrangement is not in his favour and it suits me, although I expect a good game from Chris. So I want to be sure I put him because he is a lousy dart player he hasnt come this way , he has a lot of talent.
This is the time of year when youre able to make a #1m in only a couple months so I must be sure I am sharp.
Chris Dobey – that I was not setting it in a couple and I think I did exactly the ideal thing as I couldnt continue going on like this without being getting off.
Double 16 that I took the choice, As soon as I took with treble 16. It is a competition, Ive played dual in . Because I started darts double out competitions and its a fantastic format for me.
I will never look past my opponent. Clearly Michael is exceptional, the world , but I will prepare myself as if Im going into some other game and hopefully I will be at my finest.
Chizzy was allowed to watch this week following some brilliant type on the floor this season which has three Professional Tour titles and three nine-darters plus a change of darts.
Hes lived up to this billing from the very first round where hes accounted for Gerwyn Price plus he has not looked back into a tournament in which hes decent pedigree, it is the fourth time in the past seven years he has reached the last eight plus he looks in the perfect shape to eventually break his main duck.
Duzzas year continues to go from strength-to-strength, with won his Tour card in January the three-time BDO world champion won a Pro Tour name in a month, and it has gone on to achieve at the World Matchplay semi-final on his introduction and the Grand Prix on his first showing.
The couple have met for example a Pro Tour final at February where Chizzy prevailed, where it was won by Duzza along with Darts Grand Slam last 16 two years back – night seems like being another thriller.
Experts verdict – the reason I say is that he is currently playing better and becoming his rhythm his standard of play is really much better in general and I think Chizzy wins handsomely.
Chisnall has gone 16 games without averaging less than 85 in a double-to-start format, if he does this against Glen then he wins as Glen was dodging a few bullets.
I dont believe Chizzy, who has so much confidence at the moment, will let him off. I see him winning and then I see him troubling Van Gerwen at the final. Wayne Mardle

Glen Durrant – I should be elated but I am scratching my head askingam I at the semi-final. But what Ill say is that when these opportunities present themselves youve got to grab them.
It isnt about expertise, and Im towards the end of my career, maybe five or six years, I am here in order to win. If I had been 20 or 30 it is a week, a semi-final but I understand exactly what the outcome is and I like putting pressure on myself, if I can win I am also from the Grand Slam.
Chizzy is a champion whos playing while I am pulling and pulling, a famous PDC player but a punch at the 12th round is swinging and grabbing them on the brow!
Dave Chisnall – it is a format as we have seen with the seeds heading out but I attempt to plod on, eliminate and runninghit dozens and hit doubles.
Playing with Gerwyn in the round – and it was a game that travelled all the way but I have had three unique games. Steve [Bunting] was and Nathan is such a scrappy player.
Its been a year, Im very happy in the home also and that means I am happy when I move away also.
Coverage of the semi-finals of this World Grand Prix gets underway on Main Event & Sky Sports Action on Friday night from 7pm.
