Tyson Fury vowed not to violate underdog Otto Wallin in a colourful Las Vegas news conference.
Fury, 31, requires on Wallin on Saturday night, filling the Sin City fight night held yearly over Mexican Independence Day weekend.
28, wallin, has 20 wins from 20 battles but Fury is a 1-25 bookies’ favourite.
“I do not underestimate anybody, I will respect everyone,” said Fury.
“I will train for a guy like he has 20 knockouts in a row. The tall southpaw is constantly a challenge but a challenge I could not defeat and I haven’t met with or even a mountain I couldn’t scale – he will be no exception.
“Hopefully we go for a beer after.”
Fury has attempted to align himself with fans, who have went to Las Vegas for the weekend. He has repeatedly referred to himself as”El Rey Gitano”, so”The Gypsy King”.
At one point in the press conference, a reporter contested Fury to comprehend that a question.
After at first offering a stock response, Fury reasoned:”And yes, I do like cuddly toys and crayons, thank you for asking.”
His response drew laughter and Fury then told another reporter faking to ask a question if it had been requested in Spanish, he could know.
“I wasn’t supposed to box on this weekend,” Fury additional.
“After we heard Saul’Canelo’ Alvarez wouldn’t be battling in Las Vegas on this weekend I believed what a shock. This has been a particular weekend for years. I thought the Mexican folks will not have a principal event, and so I introduced my fight date forward four weeks.”
Together with Fury’s entourage, including his brother Tommy and Love Island celebrity Molly Mae, enjoying his humorous screen, his UK promoter Frank Warren sought to concentrate minds by saying just how much was at stake against Wallin given a rematch with WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is set for early in 2020.
“One punch can alter the entire thing,” worried Warren.
Fury included:”Is Wallin knocking me out? Definitely not. I don’t know much and that is a fantastic thing.
“Sometimes when you understand a lot about an opponent it doesn’t turn me on fully, when it is unknown it’s much more exciting.
“I feel good, fit, have trained really difficult, weight is ideal, injury free, sharp, rejuvenated. I feel prepared for a fantastic fight. I’m as strong as I have ever been.”
Fury will come face-to-face with Wallin at Friday’s weigh-in, before a Arena bout where he’ll want to extend his record of 28 wins and one draw.
US promoter Bob Arum pointed into the inspiration Wallin could draw from the shock brought on by heavyweight Ingemar Johansson in coming to stun the Floyd Paterson.
Wallin replied:”I come from a little region in Sweden and now I’m on the big stage. I’ve dreamed of this and therefore are prepared to put it all.
“I am well schooled, I’ve good offence, defence and I believe I have what is needed to lead to an upset.”
Saturday’s bout will be broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live with live text commentary on the BBC Sport site and is expected to start at about 05:00 BST at the UK.
