Tyson Fury pledged to not violate underdog Otto Wallin at a colourful Las Vegas news conference.
31, fury, takes on Wallin on Saturday night, filling the Sin City battle night held yearly over Mexican Independence Day weekend.
Wallin, 28, has 20 wins from 20 struggles but Fury is a 1-25 bookies’ favorite.
“I do not underestimate anybody, I’ll respect everyone,” said Fury.
“I could train to get a man like he has 20 knockouts in a row. The southpaw is a struggle but I have never met with a question that I could not defeat or a mountain I could not climb – he will be no exception.
“Hopefully we proceed for a beer afterwards.”
Fury has tried to align himself with fans, who have travelled into Las Vegas for the weekend. He’s referred to himself as”El Rey Gitano”, so”The Gypsy King”.
At one stage in the news conference, a reporter challenged Fury to understand that a question asked in Spanish.
After initially offering a stock answer, Fury concluded:”And yes, I do like cuddly toys and crayons, thank you for asking.”
His answer drew widespread laughter and Fury told another reporter faking to ask a question if it was requested in Spanish that he could understand.
“I was not supposed to ship with this weekend,” Fury additional.
“When we noticed Saul’Canelo’ Alvarez would not be battling in vegas on this weekend I thought what a jolt. This has been a unique weekend for several decades. I thought that the Mexican folks will not have a main event, and so I introduced my struggle date forward four months.”
With Fury’s entourage, including his brother Tommy and Love Island star Molly Mae, loving his funny display, his UK promoter Frank Warren sought to focus minds by saying how much was at stake against Wallin given a rematch with WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is set for early at 2020.
“One punch can alter the entire thing,” stressed Warren.
Fury included:”Is Wallin out me? Definitely not. I don’t know much about Otto and that is a good thing.
“Sometimes once you know a lot about a competition it does not turn me on fully, when it’s unknown it’s more exciting.
“I feel good, fit, have trained very tough, weight is ideal, trauma free, sharp, and rejuvenated. I feel prepared for a fight that is fantastic. I am as strong as I have ever been.”
Fury will arrive face-to-face with Wallin at Friday’s weigh-in.
US promoter Bob Arum pointed Wallin could draw from the jolt brought on by heavyweight Ingemar Johansson in arriving to stun the legendary Floyd Paterson in 1959.
Wallin replied:”I come from a little location in Sweden and today I’m on the large stage. Iam willing to put it all and’ve dreamed of this.
“I’m well schooled, I’ve good offence, defence and I believe I have what it takes to cause an upset.”
Saturday’s bout will be aired on BBC Radio 5 Live together with full text commentary on the BBC Sport site and is expected to start at approximately 05:00 BST on Sunday in the united kingdom.
