Paul Scholes doesn’t believe Manchester United can compete to the Premier League title in the following couple of years.
Even the midfielder considers the negative results this season show they remain behind last year’s top four.
United, who brought past weekend, have just one victory from their four games, having attracted with sailors after thrashing Chelsea on the opening day, and lost.
Scholes said:”I think you have to write United off to the next two years – that team – till Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has rid what he needs out; includes four or five move windows.
“United will be behind Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.
“I feel that this is United in the minute; you need to be patient with the young players but the skilled players have to measure up.
“We’ve observed over and over again how many errors experienced gamers are making. It is difficult for young players to develop to a team like that.”
Scholes implied that Solskjaer made the incorrect decision to draw Juan Mata after Jannick Vestergaard cancelled out Dan James’ opener at the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s past weekend.
“I’m disappointed. From once the moment Juan Mata went , really it looked like. I was surprised because I thought if anyone is going to make something it is Juan Mata,” Scholes said.
“But it wasn’t the young players that I was frustrated with, it was more the skilled players. Ashley Young gave the ball away, amd I don’t understand how many times Paul Pogba lost possession, when Matic arrived he gave the ball away.
“These are those that young players are looking around, the examples you are taking a look at.”
