Paul Scholes writes off Manchester United’s title chances for two years

Paul Scholes does not believe Manchester United can compete to the Premier League title in the next couple of years.
Even the midfielder believes the side’s results this season show they remain in the Premier League behind last season’s top four.
United, who brought with Southampton last weekend, have only 1 victory in their four games, having drawn with Wolves and lost at home to Crystal Palace after thrashing Chelsea on the opening afternoon.
Scholes said:”I believe you have to write United off to the following two years – that team – until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has cleared everything he needs out; includes five or four transfer windows.
“United will be supporting Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham.
“I feel this is United at the minute; you have to be patient with the young players however the seasoned players need to measure up.
“We have observed over and over how many mistakes seasoned players are creating. It’s difficult for young players to come to a team such as this.”
Scholes also suggested that Solskjaer made the decision to draw Juan Mata after Jannick Vestergaard cancelled out Dan James’ opener in the 1-1 draw at St Mary’s last weekend.
“I am disappointed. It seemed like from when the instant Juan Mata went . I was amazed as I thought if anyone is going to make something it is Juan Mata,” Scholes said.
“However, it wasn’t the players that I was disappointed with, it was more the knowledgeable players. When Matic arrived he gave the ball away, Ashley Young gave the ball away, amd I don’t understand the number of times Paul Pogba missing ownership.
“These are the people that young gamers are looking up to, the examples you are taking a look at.”
