Cheltenham Gold Cup target for Native River

Part-owner Garth Broom has verified the period of Native River will be geared around a tilt in the Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Winner of the blue riband event in 2018 after a memorable tussle with Might Bite, the Colin chestnut conducted to finish fourth behind Al Boum Photo when defending his crown in March and had finished third behind Sizing John 12 weeks before.
Plans are fluid with races like the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow and the Betfair Chase at Haydock, to the first half of this campaign – which he won three years ago – under consideration for the nine-year-old.
But there isnt any doubt about where relations want to end up.
Broom stated:He seems very well, but we are not going to hurry him this season. I dont understand where hell start at his point.
I really dont think theres much point going for the King George because he doesnt actually like the course at Kempton and we are toying with the Welsh National. Until the horse is high-value along with the ground stems right, we are not creating any firm plans.
I know he would have to provide a great deal of weight away in the Welsh National, however the track suits him. Ireland (Savills Chase at Leopardstown) is a choice and we are maintaining an open mind.
What we want him for are the Denman Chase at Newbury and the Gold Cup after Christmas. I am not saying hed win the Gold Cup, but Id expect he would run well inside as he has been put inside three days.
He never lets us always runs his race
