La’el Collins agrees five-year deal with Dallas Cowboys

Right tackle La’el Collins has consented to some third party contract extension with the Dallas Cowboys.
According to multiple sources, the price includes $35m ensured, that’s the amount in the league for a tackle.
Even with Ezekiel Elliott trio Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper searching for paydays of the own – using the holdout of Elliott looking like it is going to continue in the season – another starter that was young was locked up by the Cowboys by extending Collins’ bargain and solidifying their attacking line.
In August, they handed out a $64m contract to linebacker Jaylon Smith.
Collins, 26, signed as an undrafted free agent out of LSU after NFL teams passed on him at the draft days after he was questioned in the murder of a former girlfriend – despite not being a suspect.
From the time the analysis showed Collins wasn’t involved, he had been a member of the Cowboys’ roster, signing a three-year, $1.5m arrangement.
Owner Jerry Jones asserted to update this first deal, and followed with a two-year, $15.4m contract at 2017.
Collins started his NFL career at guard but has tipped this line’s correct side as a bookend.
