BetOnline Review

It takes 20 years to construct a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, gambling online would be much more enjoyable…and not as stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes they did. They’ve made decisions a few years back that is probably cost them thousandsof thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from bad PR.
We’ll be sharing some examples of these with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they are a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have a right to know the entire story before opting to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?

First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to create so many people mad?
We think that a better question is this: what did not they do?
BetOnline’s poor decisions spans the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling enjoys to withholding money to having shoddy security.
There are plenty of examples we can show you. However, LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They uncovered several examples, which you can find for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here is our TL;DR version:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they whined about what system it was on. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, even though they were really about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about how they were about the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Afterwards reports (from BetOnline) suggested that things were fine and fixed, which BetOnline was (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to like about, eh? (Though we might lie too if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a dumb move and a bad way to advertise a new product. It doesn’t exude confidence. And it makes you wonderwhy do they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money out of clients. The reasoning was nearly always because the customer allegedly cheated, even though no evidence was provided from BetOnline (from the cases we’ve read).
1 case that caught our attention was of an expert who had 60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him all his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories that revealed him cheating (for proof).
He got them though. What he did get was vacant promises about how they were on the way, and the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories because the documents were too big.
(Anyone who knows anything about internet poker and hands histories — let alone about downloading files into your own computer — understands what a crock that is. And, why would not you send evidence someone cheated in case you have nothing to hide?)
Eventually Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and helped the player get his cash back. His final update mentions being alleviated about how it worked out for him personally , but also said the same thing happened to his buddy.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this example the participant didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped to his buddy. But here is the kicker:
He chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table where no one else would be hurt. He did it so his friend might have an additional $50 to play at BetOnline.
The funny part is that they were playing from the same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two people from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the exact same table — but BetOnline did.
The individual had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas many sites would have caught it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What’s though, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned because that episode.
Forum members indicated that most legit websites would never have allowed two people from the exact same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, the moment they suspected chip dumping had happened, the participant’s account would come under review. He’d never have the chance to earn the $37,000.
However, now that he did, BetOnline desired it. But, technically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s actions (which wasn’t any one). So it is ridiculous BetOnline believes they should have the ability to retain it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The previous example we wish to talk about is an instance in which a BetOnline rep outed the way the staff understood their customer’s passwords and login amounts. It is possible to see the live chat log here.
The original poster has a fantastic point. If everybody in the business has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from running a VPN, logging into accounts and taking your money?
The BetOnline rep did not have a good answer, only a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the forum thread and you’ll see even more examples. It’s ridiculous.
What’s even more ridiculous is the way these instances are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer variety of (similar) complaints against them. A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does Something Funny: Why They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During precisely the same time BetOnline was struggling, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were trying hard to pay their clients.
Thent a few months later a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part was not so much the purchase, it was the simple fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all the current and previous payouts. Even after all their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment group is committed to get SportsBetting.ag winners compensated in a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee future and past payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep stated. “But as there’s a sizeable backlog of pending payouts, they need to be conducted through various fraud checks, prioritized and fulfilled. When the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically improved payouts thanks in part to updated payment choices, such as same day choices.”
Nobody knows precisely how much BetOnline needed to make in past payments. In fact, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” to find more than $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported by the previous management. So I think it’d be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and seemingly BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Honestly, we’ve had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from within the past year or so.
There are some complaints; ordinary stuff all businesses face that we will address later on in our inspection once it makes sense. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied customers, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean for you? In the event you forget and forgive? Are they safe enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would’ve played at BetOnline back in 2011-2012 if we had known or heard about any of the reports previously. No one in their right mind would. You’d be safer light your money on fire.
And we don’t want to downplay the mistakes they have made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be taken lightly.
However, as buying SportsBetting.ag and adding new direction to manage operations, things have improved radically. So much so that we’re comfortable now urging them to our subscribers.
And it’s not only us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, then you will see similar thought processes. Typically the reviewers first condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and advocated NOT playing with there, only to get a change of heart when they saw how much BetOnline altered.
So, here’s where we stand on the issue —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from a perfect sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we highlight in our review under.
However, as best as we could tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve on what they offer players. We feel secure having accounts here.
It is up to you to decide if you are feeling the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their previous from the way, let us jump into what’s important today — and that is what BetOnline offers in terms of banking, betting options and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid choice of banking choices. But you’ll want to keep in mind that what is available to you will probably be determined by where you live.
Let’s start with their deposit options.

The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for credit and debit cards. They’re one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those additional kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
Cash Outs
When you are ready to cash out your winnings, then you can use:

What I do not like is the way you’ll pay a commission for every single banking choice. Even bitcoin, which is typically free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% fee.
Nevertheless, I’ve seen firsthand testimonials from customers who say they have received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is quickly considering they’re in the US marketplace.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their website, but I have seen reports which suggest BetOnline gives you a $50 charge monthly if you put in your request on a Friday. In many cases this will not cover the whole fee, but it is far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Can You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. That means you can bet on sports betting, play poker and casino games.
Their longest standing, and probably most popular solution, is that their sportsbook. So let us start there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline provides action on horses, sports and financing.
Within their sportsbook they more or less cover the most well-known sports in america. Those include:
Auto racing
Baseball
Basketball
Boxing
Cricket
Darts
Football Golf
Hockey
Martial arts
Rugby
Snooker
Football Tennis
Lacrosse
Softball
Olympics
eSports
You can also wager on futures and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Soccer Cycling
Formula One
Darts
Hockey
Horses
Pro Football
College Football
Pro Baseball
Pro Basketball
College Basketball
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Rugby
Football 1 option they’ve added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how quickly that business is growing. Each bookmaker is jumping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the greatest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, even though it looks as though they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for one match-up / league. Compare this to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It’s a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports gambling?
That having been said, I think it’s a fantastic idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It’s possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this developing marketplace. Maybe they have plans to enlarge their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering marginally better pricing to the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell if that’s going to be true, nor can it matter whether they never expand this section of their sportsbook.
But, it’s reason enough to keep your eye on these.
They offer live gambling also. These options change constantly, of course, to match with what events or games are going on. When I last looked they had lines for football, tennis and baseball. You can also keep tabs on a few of games concurrently using their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
One thing they are known for are their higher-than-average betting limits. These vary from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. You can also raise your wagering levels by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a fair number of promotions, and much more than you’ll see in their racebook and financials segment combined. Some of the better choices include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50percent Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is more or less insurance — create a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you will see a listing of races in their page. Each record tells you how many spacious races you’ll find, which should you click on it is going to expand to show you the horses, races, jockeys and chances.
If you are unfamiliar with their site or horse betting, a good section to search through is that their racebook info tab within their navigation. Here you’ll find advice on:
Their track limits. This lets you know that the maximum you can wager per race.Payoff odds. Find out how much you will make if your wager (s) win.Their principles and the kinds of bets you may make.Horse betting hints, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a good section if you are new to horse betting.
And that’s about it. This segment is far more compact than their sportsbook.
Nevertheless, their racebook does have a few offers too, though nowhere near the caliber or volume that their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of their offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7 percent rebate on your bets daily with no min quantity or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Make a wager for the very first time in the racebook. In the event you lose BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your betting options include touch, array, turbo and a single touch. The assets/markets you can wager on will depend on your wager kind.
This section looks to be an afterthought. It certainly will not get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other sections do.
Their poker room is among the most popular alternatives for Americans. They’re a part of this Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in overall traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker sites. After I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their website.
In 2016 BetOnline performed a much-needed software upgrade. Previously they had many complaints about the standard of their software. This included complaints regarding fuzzy graphics, poor sound and animation quality.
But following their update we have seen suggestions they may have some of the greatest software in the US market.
From worst to best at 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But based on the images I’ve seen, their applications DOES look better.
However, there are still several areas BetOnline can improve.
Right now they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have any options for mobile players, and that we think is a no-brainer in this day and age. Additionally they only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be nice to see more game options.
In general, though, it’s nice to see they are making advancements and are getting more competitive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of which, some of the poker promotions or offers include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a maximum of $2,500. They cover out this to you $5 at one time. You will have 60 days to clear the offer. $50,000 GTD — They’re operating a $50,000 warranty for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline promises greater than $90,000 in tournament prize pools every single weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
And it is not just a”bonus,” however, the matches here must be softer due to the US traffic along with the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Earning money from their poker tables should be easier here in contrast to other poker (only) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you’ll find a great deal of game options which range from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their matches come from the Rival Gambling and BetSoft applications, both of which are known for producing topnotch games. Here is how their matches breakdown:

LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the accounts I have seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
One example came out of a poker player turned website reviewer. He shared his experience, which was among the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt in Gambling the Odds:
Considering that BetOnline’s poker software isn’t high-quality, I expected them to excel at client service. How else could you explain the popularity of the poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In reality, through their live chat service (and I just have to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life up to now.
After the live chat session began, I had to wait a couple of minutes until the customer support person bothered to answer, not only completely ignoring my question but asking for my username and password too. Can you feel comfortable entering your username and password to a live chat box? I sure did not.
I explained that I don’t want to enter that information to a chat area and, more importantly, the question demands no such information because it had been about BetOnline.ag in general. I had to wait for ten more minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely ), while receiving”Thanks for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
Nevertheless, I’ve also heard that the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline states they provide exceptional customer service. He also says that your very best choice is to take advantage of the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline might have inconsistencies with how they manage customer care…an
