As she withdrew China’s Wang Qiang 6-1 6-0 in the US Open quarter-finals only one game dropped.
This was Williams’ success at the US Open, and in 45 minutes that the quickest at this season’s tournament.
Williams was not bothered by the ankle as she moved past Qiang to maneuver to a Grand Slam singles trophy that is 24th she wrapped in her previous match.
Williams won the first five matches in about 15 minutes. Then, after falling one match, the 37-year-old collected the following 11 points in every game along with a row.
Williams finished with 25 champions to zero to Wang, who had been playing her first, and will confront Number 5 seed Elina Svitolina to get a berth in the final.
“From when I first began here… I never believed I would get to 100,” Williams said of her victory milestone.
“Didn’t even cross my mind I’d still be outside here. However, I love what I do.”
The American explained that the ankle she gathered during her fourth-round match wasn’t a problem:”Physically, I’m feeling great, and more than anything else I’m having fun every time I come out .”
