Brazilian tennis player Matos has been banned from professional tennis for life and fined $125,000 (#100,600) after being convicted of multiple match-fixing offences.
Matos has also been ordered to refund $12,000 (#9,650) obtained in winnings in championships played Ecuador.
An independent hearing found that Matos had contrived the results of 10 tennis games played during 2018 in Brazil, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Portugal and Spain at ITF level championships.
In addition to the fees, the player was found guilty not to co-operating using a Tennis Coding Unit evaluation as he failed to supply financial documents, and refused to comply with orders to supply his mobile phone for examination.
Mato, that had been suspended from tennis since 6 December, 2018 was rated 373rd using a singles ranking of 580th in April 2012, in doubles.
