This time last year, a lot of the Atlantic City sportsbooks were easy, temporary spaces carved out of the existing casino floor. For the football gambling period, this sufficed as that which was new from New Jersey sports gambling a year ago.
However, all eight sportsbooks in the city shortly built betting facilities and brand new with the objective of being prepared to go from the 2019-2020 NFL betting season. And there’s a fantastic reason for that: Football is the game to wager on in the US. Harrah’s was just one sportsbook earlier this summer to get an upgrade.
Atlantic City casinos and I visited and had a opportunity to take a look at the sportsbook in Harrah’s.
Address: 777 Harrah’s Boulevard, Atlantic City 08401
Harrah’s opened in November 1980 around the time that the Philadelphia Eagles were marching in their first Super Bowl appearance from the Oakland Raiders.
Full credit for maintaining their property bright and fresh even when it approaches its 40th birthday to the Harrah’s operation. Harrah’s’ parent company is.
In addition to Harrah’s in Atlantic City, Caesars just opened a new sportsbook in Bally’s, which I will be reviewing at a later date.
The full-scale version of The Book at Harrah’s opened in May and can be embedded at this casino’s footprint. The Book hasn’t yet been added into the casino directional signals, so you might want to request a casino employee to steer you in the right direction if you aren’t familiar with the landscape of their Harrah’s floor plan.
The Book has a nice scale and size (ability of 296) with an”L” shape design anchored by 50″Vegas-style” leather chairs (with adjustable tabletops) from the main viewing area. Directly behind those seats are 12 seats on a tabletop railing which contains chairs and six high-top tables and USB charging ports.
To the left of the most important area are just two fan temples which each hold up to 10 people with table service. Booth areas can be booked ahead of time. These are not just”cave dwellings” as they are in the open space of The Novel. Caves are tables and seats.
There is sufficient TV coverage with three displays situated in 10 displays overall from the publication along with the main area. It’s not”wall to wall” TV policy by any other means, but it will fit into the overall design of the room.
As previously stated, The Novel is at the heart of the casino, but there’s not an onsite or adjacent bar or restaurant. The Book does offer a food and beverage menu with the capability to purchase directly from your chair by phone or by the attendant.
If you are not taking a jitney tour and need to push and self-park at Harrah’s, parking will set you back $15 on weekends and $10 on weekdays, that is pretty much the normal AC parking fee.
The viewing area dominates the overall L-shaped layout of this Book. If you aren’t able to evaluate a seat in the huge leather seats or the chairs right behind them, there is tons of room to stand and observe behind the seating locations or on either side.
There’s also check out the live-action onto a handful of TV displays and space located close to the teller windows that are live to stand. Since there presently is no kiosks the teller windows are a focal point.
You’ll find four live teller terminals located at a spacious window region that is well-designed for the”busy” sports gambling times.
RATING: 4 stars
There are no self-service terminals. It is less than perfect in peak times as a bettor might turn into (Caesar’s expects ) that the Caesars Sportsbook program to put a bet, however, just as readily use among those other NJ sports gambling apps to make their sports plays.
RATING: N/A
The wager at the teller window is 5, which is the standard live teller minimum at AC sportsbooks.
That’s not an option here, while a few places have kiosks that offer lower gambling minimums.
RATING: 2.5 stars
The 10 TV screens in The Book will be the fewest I have seen in a New Jersey sportsbook.
As a number of these screens are located in both fan cave sections, you may have trouble locating a display carrying the Browns vs Titans match on Week 1 of the NFL season. The 3 screens situated in the primary viewing area are large structure and crystal clear, but it’s just you will come across displays and this size display at NJ sportsbook.
RATING: 3 stars
Having a”fire marshal” maximum total capacity of 296, I relied on 100 chairs. Approximately half of the total are the high-end leather chairs that are the best selling”best seats in the house.”
RATING: 4 stars
Caesars is stepping forward and offering seating at their sports both betting properties.
It is a step in the perfect direction while the booking choices at Harrah’s are limited currently to both fan cave segments. The reservations can be made online or through phone. It is not clear if there is an associated price either in the form of a normal fee or some minimum spend cave locations that are involved for the enthusiast.
Caesars could build at Harrah’s in certain reservation options for a number of those massive arena seats each week to NFL season and NCAA football.
RATING: 4 stars
Even the AC Burger Bar has drink menu and a fantastic food for the ones that are currently gambling and watching the games at Harrah’s.
Even though some might like the choice of bar/lounge area or a food court, there is a good deal to be said for never having to leave your seat to be able to monitor food and beverage and miss any game action.
Take a look at the menu here.
RATING: 4.5 stars
On the afternoon of my time visit, The Book had a reasonable amount of staffing at the teller window, security patrol, in addition to a customer service rep to carry food and beverage orders.
Additionally, the staff of the Harrah had stocked all the daily lines and futures price sheets which were easily accessible.
RATING: 4 stars
Harrah’s is just one of three casinos located in the Marina District. Atlantic City does provide a jitney shuttle service that is relatively cheap ($2) and can get you to the other Marina casinos (Borgata, Golden Nugget) and all of the Boardwalk spots.
The self-parking charges for Harrah’s are $10 for weekends and weekdays if you aren’t driving the AC jitneys. The parking charges are in-line with other AC casino parking fees.
RATING: 3.5 stars
Harrah’s has restaurants/clubs located on site and casino gaming activity.
There are no other casino choices within easy strolling distance once you’re in Harrah’s, as is the case with Borgata and Golden Nugget. But there are lots of activities here to keep you busy.
RATING: 3.0 stars
As a part of every sportsbook trip, I am placing a soccer bet for the forthcoming 2019 season.
Harrah’s has some NFL player props now on offer. I left a future wager that the Cardinals and NFL’s No. 1 overall draft pick Kyler Murray would soon be turned loose by new trainer Kliff Kingsbury and, barring injury, should start in every game with the Opportunity to easily go OVER the posted 20.5 TD passes this season:
The Novel at Harrah’s has some nice bits: seats that are great , in-seat meals and beverage orders, and the choice to pre-book a buff cave.
However, there are a few gaps in their delivery, mainly the dearth of all TV displays throughout the publication, the dearth of any self-service betting kiosks, along with the restricted access to seats.
Do not get me wrong; comforts and the d??cor from Harrah’s sportsbook are of premium quality. It’s just that one expects to have greater TV display options and seats.
